We've finally added DVDA songs to the site. Big thanks to BigWill of the Scriptorium for the mp3s. We also finally added the super cheesy Casio keyboard stylings of Trey Parker's "Immature: A Collection of Love Ballads For The '80's Man". Enjoy! I'm not familiar with the website crikey.com.au, or the ins and outs of Australian politics, but there's an interesting South Park reference in one of the columns: "It appears to be that [South Australian Premier Mike] Rann's thinking on alien contact has been profoundly influenced by South Park - and the episode "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe"." The [Meriden, CT] Record-Journal.com contains an article about swear words and their decreasing strength. Take the immensely popular television cartoon "South Park," for example, a show filled with characters so cute they're inevitable magnets for small children. Yet it's an adult's show and these same characters are among the most filthy minded and foul-mouthed you'll find anywhere. Kenny may not have much to say. But the others do, and it's usually pretty lewd-lipped.July 16, 2003 1:30pm CDT The "American Heroes" (or whatever they're calling it) movie is mentioned in the news again, but there's no new information at this time. U-San Bernadino County Sun has it tucked in with their music news, but I'm not sure why. If you prefer to read the exact same thing on the exact same page with a different title, head over to U-Redlands Daily Facts' music news. Head over to USA Today for everything you ever wanted to know about Sea Monkeys. ~~Zuzu July 14, 2003 6:00pm CDT This Salt Lake Tribune column suggests Marc Shaiman may be the savior of the movie musical. "In "South Park," Shaiman skewered the Disney musical. He could be the guy to rescue it." Go Marc!! In yet another "Top 8000 Greatest Whatever" shows, VH1 will be counting down their Top 200 Greatest Pop Icons. According to the Buffalo News, Eric Cartman will be on that list. This is London has a great article about Isaac Hayes on their site. Regarding his role as Chef, Hayes has this to say: It is not hard to see why the creators of South Park chose Hayes to voice the lubricious, homily-spouting character of Chef. Not that Hayes saw it quite that way. "My agents called me one day and said, 'Mr Hayes, we think we have a voice-over for you.' I'm like, 'What is it, Disney?', and they tell me it's a latenight adult cartoon. I'm thinking, 'Y'all serious?' But then I start computing: this could last six weeks, I'll make easy money, then I'll be gone."And speaking of South Park voice talent, Eliza Jane Schneider will be performing her one-woman play Freedom of Speech in New York. There's more information at Playbill News. Sun-Sentinel.com reports that "Kid Notorious", the cartoon based on the life of Robert Evans, will be aired on Comedy Central along with South Park beginning in October. Whoah dude! Garbage Pail Kids are coming back! During my news search for Matt & Trey related tidbits, this AP article in the St Petersburg Times came up. I LOVE Garbage Pail Kids! And in other "not really South Park news, but "South Park" brought it up on my news search" news, here's an article at TCPalm's website about the new "adult" cartoons this season. Yay Ren & Stimpy! I'm the pitcher, you're the catcher! (I still can't stop saying that. :/ ) ~~Zuzu July 7, 2003 12:45pm CDT This is cute: I received an e-mail from the webmaster of what we believe is the first Team America fansite. She even gave us permission to skewer her site! That's a right kind offer, but I usually avoid making fun of personal sites. Big ol' conglomeration-type sites, though ... >:) News from our Fudge,Packer? forum: dwarreng posts: I saw Matt in Malibu at Pamela Anderson's bday party this past Monday night... And get this, the whole night he basically hung out with John Stamos...Yes Full House's own Uncle Joey. The Full House reference is enough to make us forgive him for the name-dropping. ;) And one more smiley for this short update - :'( R.I.P. Barry White. There'll never be another Love Walrus. ~~Zuzu |
