Happy Birthday to Us!
Mattntrey.com went live on June 28, 2002. Happy birthday, also, to Willie Westwood aka BigWill aka ManlyMan! You know Will from his amazingly thorough Scriptorium, as well as many South Park-related message boards and IRC channels. Nous t'aimons, monsieur Westwood! (And if I conjugated that wrong, oh well ... I'm only an English spelling nazi!)

Here's an editorial in the Gilroy (CA) Dispatch citing South Park as inappropriate material for second-graders. Personally, I agree - and I agree with the rest of the article as well. Something to think about.

The King County (WA) Journal reports that Trey Parker has a role in the independent short film "Small Change". Nick Giersdorf, the film's creator, plans to enter the film in as many festivals as he can next month.

Giersdorf has received help from many people already, including beauty pageant producer and actor Dean Kosage of Auburn, who introduced him to Trey Parker. Giersdorf landed the co-creator of "South Park" to play the leading character's best friend, Bill, in "Small Change."
The topic of Spanish dubbed episodes of South Park came up a while ago on the South Park Studios BBS. The Miami Herald today has an article about "The Kitchen", the company that dubs many television shows and movies, including South Park.

Here's some more sites with information on the Team America movie:
 Ireland Online - Ireland!

Irish Examiner - Same as above, but, again...Ireland!

Killer Movies - Pretty much the same as above, but this time, it's the UK!

DeHavilland - bonus picture & a bit more info than the other UK link

E! Online - bonus picture & a nice, long article

Perhaps the long break between new South Park episodes has something to do with "that Thunderbirds movie" Matt & Trey were supposed to be working on. Cinescape reports that they boys are working with Pam Brady on the movie Team America. Trey will direct, naturally, and Matt and BLU's Scott Rudin will produce. According to the article, "The $20 million dollar movie will be made during the next break between SOUTH PARK seasons."

You know this is big news, so here's a few other sites with information:
Teen Hollywood - very basic info

NZoom - bonus picture & incorrect information about Bowling for Columbine

Movies.com - same incorrect information about Bowling for Columbine

 zap2it - my favorite ... sexy Matt picture :P

Girly is so amazingly quick, she had the TMB Gallery back up last night. I'm not quite as efficient, so you didn't hear about it until this morning. You *have* to check out this gallery. It's full of the promotional images that used to be on Comedy Central's press site. Girly even went to the trouble of creating normal-sized versions in case you don't want the gigantic desktop-wallpaper-sized ones. And by the way, that's an excellent idea - Girly and I both have Trey & Matt in the Oval Office on our desktops.

More on the Dumb & Dumberer front. This from the Guardian Unlimited, which labels the film as perhaps the vilest prequel ever:
And the producers of Dumb and Dumberer could extend the same courtesy to audiences as was shown to them by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, their original choice to make the film: within weeks of starting work, the pair had admitted defeat, resigned from the project, and given back the money.
Where are Terrance & Phillip when you need them? According to The Globe & Mail, Canada is running out of natural gas!
"We can't blame Canada, like the kids from South Park did," quipped committee chairman Billy Tauzin.
Oh, we can and we will, Mr. Chairman person!

Woohoo! The Trey Gallery Lives! As you may know, Girly had this done last week (w00t!) but we were kinda down then, so now it debuts! Enjoy. We are aware of the nonfunctional TMB Gallery, and Girly's working dilligently on getting that back up.

iamthejam on the Fudge, Packer? board asked about Dumb & Dumberer which comes out this Friday. Matt & Trey were, indeed, involved with the prequel to Dumb & Dumber. The were originally slated to write the movie. Here's what Yahoo! says about it:
Screenwriter: Robert Brenner; rewrite by Brian Hartt (feature debuts)

Screenwriter Note: (10/22/02) "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker were hired back in 1998 to work on this project, but they eventually backed out, giving New Line back the $1.5 million they had been paid for the job (displaying a sense of "playing nice" which is nearly unheard of in Hollywood) (source: Corona).
However, ceri, our illustrious board admin, says IMDB has Robert Brenner and Troy Miller listed as screenwriters. Either way, it's not our guys.

Aaaand we're back! Thanks to everyone for your patience during our downtime. I'm happy to announce that our very generous webhost, mbuna, has moved everything to his brand new server! As far as we know, all files and links are working, but if you come across anything broken, please let me know. Simply click on my name at the end of the update to send me an email.

Check out my horoscope from the Las Vegas Mercury:
GEMINI (May 21-June 20): You're in a phase when you may be tempted to start food fights at fancy dinner parties, wrap toilet paper around the trees in front of your adversaries' houses and regard the juvenile delinquents of cable TV's "South Park" as worthy role models. I hate to discourage you from indulging this instinct for uproar, since so much of it could be fun and liberating. Therefore, I'm going to authorize you to go right ahead. But please keep a fraction of your adult brain working in the background, ready to step in and halt the proceedings if you're ever about to, say, imitate the South Park kids' "How to eat with your butt" routine for your boss.
